This course is designed to build confidence, stage presence, and performance skills while learning the technical and creative aspects of putting together a polished, show-stopping routine.
Whether you’re preparing for your first time on stage or looking to take your performances to the next level, Lights, Camera, Stage Ready is designed to help you build confidence, creativity, and presence through both practical training and performance theory.
Led by Angelique, who has been performing since the age of 6—with over 30 years of stage experience—you’ll be learning from someone who has lived and breathed performance her whole life. With a Cert IV in Performing Arts from Brent Street, a diploma in events and attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, and spent 4 years performing as a dancer on Carnival Cruise Lines. Angelique brings a wealth of knowledge from all corners of the entertainment industry. She has studied acting at NIDA, has performed in countless gigs all over Australia, worked as an extra in TVCs and film, and spent 4 years performing in Risqué Revue, Gin Mill Social and El Circo at Slide Lounge.
Over the course of 4 Sundays, you’ll explore:
Choreography, musicality & movement quality
Costuming, makeup, and DIY styling
Acting, character work, and storytelling
Props, strip, and performance presence
Each session runs for 3 hours (1.5 hours theory / 1.5 hours practical), with a 20-minute break between. You’ll also receive a complimentary 1.5-hour private session with Angelique—30 minutes to workshop ideas, concepts or ask questions, and a full hour to start building your own show-stopping routine.

Week 2: Props & Strip Work for Theatrical Impact

When and how to incorporate props for maximum effect
Choosing props that enhance movement rather than distract from it
The art of striptease & burlesque elements – making it elegant, playful, or dramatic
Working with gloves, jackets, skirts, and other removable costume pieces
Practical: Burlesque Strip & Prop Class
Hands-on burlesque strip technique – learning graceful, confident removals
Working with props like canes, chairs, feather boas & fans
Floorwork & movement sequences incorporating props
Practicing flirty, powerful, or seductive character work
Week 3: Costuming, Hair & Makeup + Acting for Performance
